Joyce Edwards,L.Ac.,MSOM started out her career in health care 30 years ago as a Radiologic Technologist. Shortly after graduating from school she started to learn diagnostic ultrasound, which at that time was in it's infancy. Most of her career in diagnostic ultrasound has been dedicated to woman's health working closely with OB/Gyn physicians and Reproductive Endocrinologists.

So how did she get interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine? She suffered from fibroids when she was younger. She had surgery to remove the fibroids but after 20 years they grew back. Wanting to try to avoid another surgery she was referred to an acupuncturist by a co-worker of her sister. Although she did have to have another surgery she found an amazing feeling after each acupuncture treatment.

After studying for four years she received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine and a Bachelors in Nutrition.

Her main interest is treating women with menopause symptoms and women who have poly cystic ovarian syndrome.

She is lives in Elgin with her 3 dogs and 3 cats and is an avid hiker.
